Walkthrough
- Accept the task from Peter Saar Gwynleve, commander of the Nilfgaardian garrison.
- Visit hunter Mislav, south of White Orchard village. Track him with Witcher Senses; help him fight wild dogs or press him for information.
- At the site where a body was found, examine the bottle, blood and footprints, then follow the trail across the broken bridge to the griffin's nest.
- Speak to the herbalist for the buckthorn you'll need as bait.
- Meet Vesemir, receive the crossbow, and set the bait.
- Fight the griffin, then return to the garrison.
Preparation checklist
- Silver sword ready
- Hybrid oil, if you have it
- Grapeshot bombs, if you have them
- Aard to knock the griffin down; crossbow for shots while it's airborne
- A healing option and a manual save
Outcome
After the griffin is dead, the commander keeps his word and the trail to Yennefer continues beyond White Orchard.
